Alison Dantas is an accomplished Senior Executive, Coach and Mediator with a passion for organizational change, governance and organizational effectiveness and innovation.
She has spent the last 35+ years working in the not-for-profit sector in government, community organizations and professional associations. She served as the CEO of the Canadian Chiropractic Association for over 10 years. In addition, she has had an exemplary advocacy and leadership career in not-for-profit professional healthcare associations—including positions as the CEO of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Executive Director of the Association of Ontario Midwives. She has obtained valuable leadership experience in government (Ombudsman Ontario), social services (Community Social Planning Council of Toronto), community involvement (Peel Rape Crisis Centre), and social housing (Peel Living).
Ms. Dantas is the recipient of awards from the Canadian Society of Association Executives and the Peel Institute. The Peel Rape Crisis Centre honoured her with its Remarkable Woman Award for significant contributions toward ending violence against women and children. In 2018, she was honored by the University of Western States with an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree for her work in setting up a national Student Chiropractic Association to help Canadian Chiropractic Students stay connected to their profession and integrate seamlessly into the profession.
She holds a Masters Degree from the University of Waterloo in Regional Planning and Resource Development as well as Graduate Certificates from Royal Roads University in Executive Coaching and Change Management. Her commitment to high performance led her to achieve her Chartered Director designation with the Carribbean Governance Training Institute and her achieve her Executive Certificate in Advanced Conflict Resolution and Mediation with the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law.
She thoroughly enjoys coaching clients and leaders to achieve their goals and potential and ultimately live their best lives. You will often find her in the garden with her hands in the dirt, listening to soul, reggae, or Motown tunes or in the kitchen replicating meals she has enjoyed at restaurants around the world.
